We founded Tectmind because we wanted to make a larger contribution to addressing the supply side of the housing crisis. In Canada, we experienced the doubling in housing cost in less than a decade while wage growth didn't keep up. We knew this crisis was not unique to Canadians.
So we challenged ourselves to combine the cutting edge of technology, AI, data, with our deep understanding of zoning codes to create the ultimate development feasibility platform that combined zoning allowance data to help developers select the best projects and feel empowered to kill the suboptimal projects. Our co-founder, Nicka Morady, has spent the past decade building custom zoning analyses for real estate developers. Through this experience, she saw firsthand the critical role these analyses play in assessing a plot's development potential. However, the traditional methods were often cumbersome and time-consuming.
Nicka, with her keen interest in technology, envisioned a way to automate this process. This vision led her to collaborate with a team of talented technology, AI and business, professionals.
